Off topic but maybe our most helpful post ever
Let’s talk meal planning!!!
This is off topic from our normal branding / marketing / business content, but when I shared a Reel a few months back about my meal planning (not prepping) process, y’all seemed really interested! So I thought I’d go into a bit more detail here, as I know a lot of you are busy working moms (like me) and could use allll the tips to make your life a little easier.
Watch the Reel here.
I don’t meal prep — I meal plan. There’s a big difference. I sadly can’t get on board with eating the same thing every day, so the prepping isn’t for me. But I do sit down for five minutes (yes, literally five) on Sundays and decide what we’re going to eat each night. It takes five minutes because I’ve got it down to a simple science, and today I want to share it with you so you can copy + paste.
1. Open Meal Plan Note
I have a shared note with my husband (this leaves no reason to ever hear the dreaded question, “What’s for dinner?” — you’re welcome 😉) that has a simple outline with each day of the week so I can add the meal + a link to the recipe when needed.
2. Open Staple Recipes Note
This is also a shared note that has our favorite “staple” recipes categorized by cuisine. No more “what do I want to make?” and having to start that search from scratch. I pick a few things for the week that sound good, add them to the Meal Plan note, and then start my grocery list accordingly.
3. Make Grocery List
If you use Shipt / Instacart, simply add those items to cart! If you go to the grocery store, use the Reminders app on your phone, and create a New List (select Grocery from Type options) and viola, an organized by aisle grocery list!
