STEPS!
One: Then, proceed by connecting your new Flodesk account to your Shopify store.
Log in to Flodesk.
Click Settings > Integrations > Shopify.
Click the ‘Click to Connect’ button to log in to your Shopify store.
Two: To collect email addresses, create a sign-up form in Flodesk that you’ll embed into your Shopify site.
From your Flodesk account, click Forms > New Form.
Select your preferred type of Form (ex. pop-up, whole page, etc.) and customize it with your brand images, fonts, colors, tagline, etc. Make sure to include a direct and obvious reference to your store discount! For example, use “Get 10% off your purchase!” as your Form heading.
When you land on the ‘Embed’ page, click to copy the embed code.
Under a separate Internet tab, log in to your Shopify store. From there, click Online Store.
Under your current Shopify theme’s dropdown menu, select Edit Code.
Under ‘Layout’, select theme.liquid.
Paste the Flodesk Form code snippet immediately before the </head> tag.
Click Save, and then refresh your live Shopify site to verify that everything worked correctly.
Three: Create the corresponding Shopify discount code, as well as a Flodesk welcome email for distributing that code to new subscribers.
In Shopify, click Discounts, and create a code such as ‘Welcome10’ that will offer 10% off the retail price of your store merchandise to users and can only be redeemed once.
In Flodesk, click Emails, and create a message that welcomes new subscribers to your email distribution list and contains the discount code you just created in Shopify. For example, say “Thanks so much for joining our email list! Here’s 10% off your first purchase from our store. Use code: WELCOME10.”
Four: Create a Workflow in Flodesk that will automatically distribute your welcome email to new subscribers.
In Flodesk, click Workflows > New Workflow.
Click Start from Scratch, and name your Workflow.
Click Add Trigger > A subscriber is added to segment(s).
Under ‘Choose Segment’, and click the option with Shopify in its name.
Click the plus sign (+) underneath the first trigger, and select Email.
Click Duplicate Existing Email, and select the welcome email you created in step 3.
Customize your subject line and preview text, and then click Publish!
After you’ve completed these steps, every time a new visitor to your Shopify site subscribes to your email list via the sign-up form you embedded, they’ll automatically receive your welcome email from Flodesk containing their discount code for 10% off their purchase from your store. So, in one quick move, you’ve got a new email contact and a new shopper in one!
