Make sales and promotions more accessible to your target audience!

Your Squarespace Tip—

Announcement Bar

If you’re not already using Squarespace's Announcement Bar, it’s a must. This feature lets you display important messages at the top of your site like sales, special links, or more general updates. It’s a great way to catch your visitors' attention without being intrusive with a pop-up.

Here’s how to activate it:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Marketing.

  2. Click Announcement Bar.

  3. Toggle it on and customize your message, style, and link.

Your Shopify Tip–

Shop Pay Installments

If you sell large ticket items in your store, increase your conversion rate by offering Shop Pay Installments, which allow customers to split their purchase into four interest-free payments. Don’t worry — you get paid up front, then Shopify handles the loan with the the customer. This feature can make more expensive items more accessible and attractive to potential buyers.

How to set it up:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings.

  2. Click Payments.

  3. In the Shop Pay section, click Manage.

  4. Enable Shop Pay Installments and configure your settings

This week’s Q&A: Madison Whiteneck

on virtual assistance 101

Q: What kind of tasks do virtual assistants typically accomplish?

Usually VAs can handle tasks such as managing emails, scheduling appointments, social media, inbox management, and project management. They can take the lead on projects for you or assist with the tasks along the way. There truly is a wide variety of options out there!

Q: How do I know if I’m ready to bring on a VA? Also what should I budget for?

When you find yourself overwhelmed with tasks or even if you are expecting a busy season in the coming months - a VA can be a good idea. My rule of thumb is to try to incorporate a VA or hired help into your business in a not too crazy time so you can properly train them and catch them up to speed on your process and ways of doing things. If you’re too busy to help them, it can be a waste of money for sure. Budgeting for a VA can vary widely, but you can expect to pay anywhere between $10-$75 per hour, depending on the VA's experience, skill level, etc.

If you’re looking to add to your team or want to improve your internal processes, check out Madison’s New Hire Handbook. It includes templates to get your hire up to speed and on the path to success! It’s available on Notion (our fav) or on Google Docs! Available here.
