Introducing Holcomb Ministries

Delivering hope to deep valleys, Holcomb Ministries provides intentional support to families facing the emotional, financial, and logistical challenges of a NICU stay.

We recently completed and published Holcomb’s new brand and website, which will serve as families’ point of access to Holcomb’s support, the ministry’s hub for organizing volunteers, and their digital platform for selling merchandise and collecting donations.

They said about their Sela Vie client experience:

“(Before engaging Sela Vie), we didn’t have branding for professionalism, a website as a landing place for fundraising, a volunteer form to connect with families, etc.! People who did not know us personally did not know all the details of what they were giving toward or what our ministry does. Now, we are so thankful to have our website and branding to share Holcomb Ministries publicly. We have a beautiful logo and website that is exactly what our ministry needs to communicate and connect with others. Thanks to Sela Vie, we have consistent branding and thoroughly thought-through messaging that will share the heart of our ministry. They are incredibly talented! So organized. So easy to work with and diligent with every detail. They capture every detail that you want expressed. I can’t speak highly enough about the process of working with them! It is amazing! It feels a perfect mixture of professional and approachable. I am a checklist girl and linear thinker when it comes to dates and tasks, and they did such a great job of explaining each step of the process.”

Each year, we complete one pro bono project for a not-for-profit organization that captures our special attention, and we’re so delighted to have had the opportunity to participate in Holcomb Ministries’ important work! Over two weeks, we created—

  • Visual Branding: a logo, submark, color palette, and font selection, plus brand standards, in order that Holcomb be able to confidently and cohesively apply their unique identity across all viewer touchpoints

  • Brand Messaging + Copywriting: clear articulation of Holcomb’s purpose and mission in order to strategically connect with their target audience

  • Custom Website Design: the combination of distinct beauty that represents Holcomb with professionalism and offers user-friendly functionality to support their needs

Holcomb Ministries was founded by Paul and Catherine Barber. After 160 days as NICU parents, they know the isolation, anxiety, and exhaustion that caregivers endure. They believe no family should be left to navigate it alone. Now on the other side, the Barbers have organized financial assistance (gas cards, parking stipends, housing near the hospital, therapy equipment donations, etc.), blessing bags (practical gifts for meeting immediate needs, like toiletries, snacks, swaddles, etc.), and counseling (connecting families with local Christian counselors who specialize in birth trauma and EMDR) for parents who, though they’re not the patient, need overwhelming support as they’re the ones who will remember their child’s entrance into the world.

We’re so honored and pleased to have had the opportunity to impact the success of this ministry via brand and website design!
