What’s Inspiring Us This Month — December

Welcome to the cheeriest month of all! This month we’re—

  • wrapping up client work

  • working on a bunch of Sela Vie updates (!!)

  • taking several weeks off to enjoy family and nothingness.

We hope you get to do the same: rest, reflect, and get ready for 2025! Enjoy this month’s moodboard, playlist, and make sure you keep reading for a PSA about updates to your Instagram feed display within emails and on your website!

Quick PSA for your website and email marketing:

A quick update for keeping your Instagram feeds running smoothly in your Flodesk emails and on your Squarespace site! Meta recently made changes to Instagram’s API as of December 4, 2024. Here’s what it means and how to fix any disruptions.

What Changed

  • Personal Instagram accounts can no longer display feeds in Flodesk emails or Squarespace sites.

  • Only Business and Creator accounts are supported for feed integration.

  • Reauthorization is required to keep your feeds displaying correctly.

What You Need to Do

If you have a personal Instagram account:

  1. Switch to a Business or Creator account through Instagram settings.

  2. Reconnect your Instagram account in both Flodesk and Squarespace:

    • Flodesk: Click here to reauthorize.

    • Squarespace: Go to SettingsConnected Accounts, select Instagram, and click Reconnect.

If you have a Business or Creator account:

  1. Reauthorize your Instagram account in both platforms to refresh the connection:

    • Flodesk: Click here to reauthorize.

    • Squarespace: Navigate to SettingsConnected Accounts, select Instagram, and click Reconnect.

  2. In Squarespace, after reconnecting, click the Instagram icon in Connected Accounts and select Reset Data.

Alternative Option for Squarespace

If you prefer not to switch to a Business or Creator account, replace the Instagram block on your Squarespace site with an embed block using Instagram’s embed code.

By following these steps, your Instagram feed will stay live and up-to-date in emails and on your site. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help!

As always, thanks for being here, friends. Enjoy your December!
